Boyd W. Kirkland

Boyd W. Kirkland 2/2/2015 - 7/16/2022 Boyd W. Kirkland passed away unexpectedly July 16, 2022. He was the beloved best boy of Penni and Brooks Kirkland and patient brother of Lily. Boyd was predeceased by his adored sister Wendy Lou Who and many Kirkland rescues before him. Boyd joined the Kirkland pack September 2015 at 7 months old. He was left in a crate with his bed, a toy and a note with his age outside at his Dad’s place of employment in Midtown Atlanta early one morning. His Mom picked him up and went directly to Dr. Amy at Village Vets for a complete exam and vaccines. Once cleared to be introduced to the Kirkland girls, he happily settled in with his new sisters Wendy and Lily. Wendy allowed him to apprentice under her as a vole, chipmunk and possum scout. He excelled at all tasks and was a true gentle giant. He loved traveling and made himself at home everywhere he went. His visits to Granny's in the mountains of NC and hiking in the snow with Lily during winter were happy times. When Boyd was almost 3 the family relocated to southern Henry County where he semi-retired. He enjoyed long walks and hanging out on the porch with Lily. His favorite pastimes were watching the cows in the field across the road and all the waterfowl on the pond. The green herons adored him and always flew near him. He left us way too soon and leaves a gaping hole in our hearts. He is forever loved. Until we see you again, all our love sweet boy.
