Buttercup (Buddy) West

This beautiful Angel boy of mine left me with a big hole in my heart on July 27th. Life has been chaotic the last two weeks, but I wanted to share my boy’s story for Hart's Petuary to share, because he deserves all the love and honor he can get! I have entrusted Hart’s to respectfully return all of my furbabies’ home to me, thank you for your kindness. Thank you to the wonderful Gadd's Animal Doctors of Gray for 20 years of care for this sweet boy of mine. They say cats have 9 lives, and Buddy certainly used up all of his and them some. He survived some crazy outdoor adventures that scared us to death, and many health issues, but just kept going. He was 2-3 years old when we took him in as a stray, and I had the honor of holding him in my arms for 20 more years! He was a little living miracle, who just kept fighting to hold on for his Mama. He has seen me thru the hardest of times the last 5 years, which included the loss of my wife and partner of 24 years, our 3 other cats, and one dog. Buddy was the most loving, sweet boy ever. I miss him sleeping on my chest every night. I had my Buddy for longer than any other pet my entire life, and the loss I feel is immeasurable. In the end, I could see the pain and suffering, so I chose to take that on and let him go across the rainbow bridge peacefully. He was met by all the rest of our little family, what a reunion it was!
