It is with heavy hearts and full gratitude that we say goodbye to Dirt, (or "Dirty" as he was known to all that loved him). The best dog anyone could have ever wished for, who passed away June 7 2026, leaving behind a legacy of fierce loyalty, gentle protection, and unmatched companionship.
Dirt’s story began exactly where he earned his name: found as a stray on a quiet dirt road by the love of his life, Kathy. From that serendipitous day forward, Dirt was a self-proclaimed mama’s boy. If Kathy was in the room, Dirt was there. For years, he maintained a sacred morning ritual—patiently waiting in the hallway just to see her open her eyes and start the day.
While he belonged to Kathy, Dirt’s heart was big enough to cover the whole family. He stepped into the role of silent protector, watching over TJ and Tyanne as they grew from children into the young adults they are today. He took care of his pack effortlessly, keeping a watchful, loving eye on the people who meant everything to him.
To his "dad," Dirt wasn’t just a pet; he was the greatest coworker in the world. Through countless long days working from home, Dirt was the steady, grounding presence lying faithfully at his feet, offering silent support and the kind of workplace morale that money simply can’t buy.
Dirt was a dog of fine tastes and simple pleasures. He was never one to turn down a slice of
pizza, a spoonful of yogurt, or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He also possessed a
surprisingly sophisticated side, always content to relax nearby and take in the rich aroma of a
good cigar on a quiet evening.
Dirt leaves behind a profound void, but more importantly, he leaves behind a lifetime of perfect
memories. He taught his family what true devotion looks like. He was a protector, a coworker, a
shadow, and a best friend.
Rest easy, Dirt. The hallways are quieter without you, but the dirt road that brought you into our
lives will forever be the path that led to our greatest blessing. You took care of us perfectly.
"They say the void left by a truly great dog is shaped exactly like them—a space too loyal, too
stubborn, and too full of love to ever be filled by anything else."
