She was just a dog. She was just a mangy, flea and tick covered puppy, yet we fell hard in love in the back of the van. She was just the worst puppy, chewing everything, peeing and pooping everywhere, nipping constantly, and had horrible separation anxiety. She was just here in my life at the exact moment God knew I needed her the most. At my lowest, she saved my life. She was just by my side, under my feet, following me, watching me, reacting for me sometimes, and always wanting all the food. She was just the smartest girl, always knowing when I was sad or hurt. She would lick my feet, thinking it somehow healed me. She was just the perfect foster momma. She helped me with dozens and dozens of fosters over the years. She was especially good with the monster puppies, probably because she could relate. She was just the sweetest, the smartest, the most devoted, and the absolute best. She was just a dog, who changed my whole world. Mommy & Daddy will always love you, our big beautiful creature, the most beautiful girl in all of the land, my Lucy
